Amy Herzogs Bühnenfassung von Henrik Ibsens Klassiker verleiht einem zeitlosen Theaterstück neues Leben – mit moderner Sprache, einer kompakten Spielzeit von 110 Minuten und emotionaler Klarheit, wobei die Essenz / das Wesentliche des Originals erhalten bleibt.
Das Stück spielt im Hause Helmer und folgt Nora Helmer, einer scheinbar heiteren Ehefrau und Mutter. Doch wenn Geheimnisse ans Licht kommen und alte Bekannte Nora unvermittelt aufsuchen, [muss sie sich Fragen zu, Unabhängigkeit und den Rollen stellen, die wir in unserem eigenen Leben spielen].

Amy Herzog’s version of Henrik Ibsen’s classic breathes new life into a timeless drama with modernized language, a focused 110-minute runtime, and emotional clarity—while preserving the original’s emotional core.
Set in the Helmer home, the play follows Nora Helmer, a seemingly cheerful wife and mother. But as secrets begin to surface and old acquaintances reappear, Nora is forced to confront questions about trust, independence, and the roles we play in our own lives.
This November, we’re staging Amy Herzog’s modern version of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House for its rare blend of history and immediacy. Written 150 years ago, the play’s themes about women’s roles in society remain strikingly relevant in this fresh, contemporary translation. Our audiences value Ibsen, and this version offers a unique chance to experience a “classic” that feels entirely modern. With the play studied in schools, we hope to engage both pupils and teachers with a vibrant stage interpretation. Set at Christmas, it’s also perfectly timed for our late-November run.
